Case Study
Overview
A pub, located in Herefordshire, needed a new pumping system to deal with waste from the toilets within the building. This needed to be pumped to the nearest sewage treatment plant which is 1.5 miles away.
The Problem
Improperly treated sewage meant blockages whilst trying to pump into the main sewer. This meant costly remedial work to solve this issue that kept occurring. There was also a smaller pumping unit in place that was not capable of pumping the 1.5 miles required.
The Solution
Haigh supplied a 200 series Pipeliner, along with a progressive cavity pump. The system also has a Haigh Filtramatic back up to ensure that if the main pump fails, the system will still operate as it should. The sewage comes from the public house, into a reception pit and is then drawn through the Pipeliner, whilst being macerated to the correct particle size. This is then pumped to the nearest sewage treatment plant.
